We loved having a home birth and it was greatly enriched by Ranelle and her team. She cares deeply about the whole family unit during a vulnerable time. It was a joy to be prayed over at every visit and in the week leading up to our home birth her attentiveness and patience were a great comfort and encouragement to us. Ranelle....Ranelle....Ranelle!! She is a God-send- I had two induced hospital births and then an all natural homebirth with her. Working with Ranelle and Joy was by far the best birthing team we could have asked for. Going into my third unmedicated birth and second home birth I felt confident and ready for what our birth may bring. My labor had been moving quickly, so quickly we were unsure if the team would arrive in time. Thankfully Ranelle did arrive in time. Her guidance and expertise assisted us in a safe delivery despite a 4 minute shoulder dystocia. My confidence never wavered due to her calm, peaceful, and prayerful presence. After our birth we continued to receive outstanding and loving care! My husband and I still talk about how Ranelles knowledge allowed us to stay at home and have the birth we planned. Had we needed to transfer, I would have fully trusted Ranelles' call to do so, because she fully assessed and informed us of options and how to proceed. From our family centered prenatal care, to immediately postpartum, to our last appointment, Ranelle welcomed our older kids in the process of birth and care. They never experienced resentment towards their sibling because they always felt involved and valued! Life On The Inside has changed mine and my families life, this being my 5th child and this my 1st child at home has been a life changing experience. I had 4 of my children in the hospital and I just remember not ever really having a good experience and there not being any peace. I knew when I had got pregnant this last time, I did not want to have another baby in a cold bare hospital again. After praying and making a decision to have a home birth we came across Life On The Inside website and reading all about their mission and what and who they represent. That brought my husband and I instant shalom. We also had a friend of ours also recommended Ranelle, I knew it was confirmation from God. From the very first prenatal visit, birth of our son, and to the last postpartum visit it has all been great joy Ranelle and her team are very knowledgeable and explain everything and bring comfort. I learned a lot from them it was a true blessing to be under their care. The birth of our son was the most beautiful and peaceful delivery and of course painful, however I got to be in the comfort of my own home and bed. It was so comforting to welcome our son playing worship music it was warm and the best part I wasn't hooked up to all kinds of stuff I got to move around freely and drink and eat freely. I wanted to mention the cluster group and how much I enjoyed that and how it helped to get together with other families. Overall a great experience. I felt we were all valued and cared for. I will miss all the prayers after each visit. Ranelle truly is the best and her team! I definitely without a doubt would recommend Life On The Inside. “We are so incredibly appreciative of Ranelle and her team! I have had a natural birth with all three of our children, the first in a hospital, the second at a birth center, and I can confidently say that my favorite experience was the birth of our third in our home with Ranelle, Joy, and Bethany. The personalized support throughout prenatal care, birth, and the postpartum weeks was so sweet, these ladies are very caring and thoughtful. Ranelle often says “You are valued” and my goodness she sure makes you feel that way too! The focus on family, what is truly best for mama, daddy, and baby, and continuous praise and thanks to God that she openly shows meant the world to us. When I searched online for “Christian Home birth Midwife” at the beginning of pregnancy I didn’t expect to find someone who would pray with us continually and offer such comfort from years of wisdom, pointing us toward Christ, and treating us like family. My labor was pretty quick and I suppose I managed contractions by being in denial that everything was progressing as fast as it was! I was home alone with my older two kiddos and I was so impressed with how skillfully Ranelle was able to know when to come to my house! I don’t feel like I gave her or my husband very much information to go off of because I was shocked that I was already in transition when I called her! On her way to my house she was was helping me through it all on the phone the whole time. They also communicated with my husband who was rushing home from work to help ensure daddy arrived in time as well! They arrived with a wave of peace as they confidently, quicky, and quietly filled the birth tub and set everything up. It was the most wonderful water birth and I’m so grateful. When I would tell people I was having a home birth, sometimes I’d get asked if I was scared... absolutely not. You won’t find this kind of care in a hospital and having experienced all three options of birth locations I felt much safer at home with this amazing midwife and team than anywhere else!! Ranelle is definitely someone I look up to, and we are so thankful for her!
